You And Your Baby Will Sleep Well With Wicked Sheets

wicked sheetsAs a special preview of the LA Baby Show, coming up on the weekend of November 5-6, we have interviewed or profiled many of the Show’s vendors and participants. You can read all about them on this Show blog, but of course the real fun is experiencing the Baby Show in person.

Tickets to the Baby Show are $30 per family, and $20 per individual, and can be purchased here.

Parents lose enough sleep dealing with crying babies as it is – no one wants to add night sweats and hot flashes. Thankfully, Wicked Sheets makes bed linens specially designed to keep sleepers cool and relaxed. And just in time for the LA Baby Show, they’ve just introduced a new line for babies to sleep easier!

We spoke with Alli Truttmann, founder of Wicked Sheets, to learn more.

For someone unfamiliar with Wicked Sheets, how would you describe the company’s mission and core offerings?

Wicked Sheets provides comfortable sleep solutions for sleepers disrupted by night sweats and hot flashes. Our most recent product line, Little Sleepers, was created for the little drools and dribbles that our smallest sleepers experience, causing them to wake during nap or night.

What is the background of Wicked Sheets? When did it start, and how has it evolved since then?

Wicked Sheets was created to help people sleep cool, sleep dry, and sleep better throughout the night. I started Wicked Sheets in April of 2008 to address my discomfort of waking to night sweats, once and for all. My mother even reports that she was a “sweaty baby”. The truth for me, however, was that my night sweats would continue into adulthood until she was diagnosed with a condition called Hyperhidrosis, which she shares with 3% of the global population. Being a collegiate athlete, I was familiar with athletic material and its high performance properties. At a family function where I was discussing this family disposition with my cousin, I jokingly suggested that they cut up her husband’s golf shirts and sew them into bed sheets. Soon thereafter, the joke became a reality and Wicked Sheets was born.

What started as a single product line company in a one-bedroom apartment in Louisville, Kentucky, originally offering a moisture-wicking bed sheet, has now grown into numerous product lines, a mattress line, and a baby line that is being sold internationally. The vision of Wicked Sheets is that it will continue catering to those who suffer from night sweats and hot flashes with the sole mission of helping all sleep well.

What are the most popular and/or newest products from Wicked Sheets?

Our most popular products include those featuring our Wicked-Cool fabric bed sheets, pillow cases, pregnancy pillow cases, swaddles, and our mattress. Our Wicked-Cool fabric was specifically designed to remain 2-3 degrees cooler to the touch than traditional fabrics and is hypoallergenic. It also has quick-dry technology, three times more breathability, and even has a special UV-cut to impede the absorption of any natural or unnatural light sources. It truly is wicked cool!

What sets Wicked Sheets apart from other bedding companies?

Wicked Sheets offers a 100% customer satisfaction guarantee to all sleepers. All of our products have been scientifically tested and designed to ensure that our sleepers are receiving the highest level of quality and sleeper comfort. Oh, and did we mention that all Wicked Sheets products are proudly handcrafted in the United States?

What can parents expect to see from Wicked Sheets at the LA Baby Show?

We’re thrilled to be “debuting” our Wicked Sheets Little Sleepers line at the LA Baby Show! Our Little Sleepers line includes: moisture-wicking and cooling crib sheets, swaddle blankets, and pregnancy pillow cases.

Of course we will be bringing along plenty of our bedding for the expecting moms experiencing hormonal influxes during their pregnancy. We’ll be hosting a “Sweaty Moms” (for both expecting and new moms) competition in the booth to win a matching set of mom and baby Wicked Sheets.
