Sassy Locks Makes Original Infant Clothing

Finding original and fun clothing for your infant can be a challenge. Too many companies offer mass-produced shirts, dresses, pants and shorts with no personal touch. Sassy Locks creates personalized clothing designed to make your baby stand out from the playground crowd.

To learn more about Sassy Locks, we spoke with founder Cindy Butler.

For someone unfamiliar with Sassy Locks, how would you describe the company’s mission and core offerings?

Our mission at Sassy Locks is to enhance family’s memories and special moments via our custom designed and personalized outfits. As families share these moments, we will strive to offer unique custom outfits that are sure to evoke emotion and enhance those beautiful memories.

What is the background of Sassy Locks? When did it start, and how has it evolved since then?

Sassy Locks was born with our 4 lb. bald baby girl. In the need to dress her, I found myself lost searching for clothes to fit her. My efforts turned into designing her outfits myself. As a bald baby we needed to let the world know she was a girl. I made her beautiful large bows/headbands to match each outfit. The name Sassy Locks was born, as I was making her “lack of locks” Sassy.

These outfits were an instant hit. Since her name is spelled in an untraditional way, I purchased an embroidery machine to personalize these outfits. I had never seen an embroidery machine or knew anyone who embroidered. However, I was determined to master this art and personalize her outfits. These outfits became so popular that other moms asked to purchase them.

As our family grew with another baby girl, so did Sassy Locks. I now make them coordinating outfits. Again, the outfits were a big hit. Orders became harder to keep track of, so we created a website to keep up. And we didn’t forget our little men! I began making outfits that I would have wanted sons of mine to wear.

Today, Sassy Locks has grown into full line of custom designed and personalized outfits and accessories for boys and girls sizes ranging from preemie to 5T.

What are the most popular and/or newest products from Sassy Locks?

Sassy Locks jumps right in with enhancing memories with our very popular newborn take-home outfits. Our custom outfits are not only used for parents of newborns to take home but also as unique baby shower gifts.

Second is our first birthday collection, making that first birthday unique and special to the birthday boy or girl.

With my passion still burning to coordinate outfits, I have launched my new Mommy & Me / Big Sister & Little Sister line of monogrammed leggings. Now we can coordinate sizes ranging from 0-3 months up to ladies 3XL with our leggings.

What sets Sassy Locks apart from other baby and infant clothing companies?

Sassy Locks stands apart from other baby clothing companies because our outfits are custom designed and custom made. We are not a mass production company. Each personalized outfit is made special for the child it was ordered for.

Our passion is driven by the hope that you love each outfit as much as we loved creating it. We strive to be a part of a lasting, loving memory.
